about us

The Anima Project
Four young women got together in September of 2003 to produce a play in NYC.

The problem? No script, no writer, no director, no theatre and no money.

With less than a year to pull the production together, the women are being followed by a team of filmmakers documenting their journey as they attempt to create a stunning, new, full-length play.

The Anima Project is created by: Angela Dee, Christina Fanizzi Sonia Satra and Erin Walls

WHAT IS THE ANIMA PROJECT?

In September of 2003, we came together to create a play, from scratch, through improvisation. As one of the tools in uncovering relevent themes and content for the play, we had intended to hold video-interviews with local New Yorkers. The idea soon transformed as the project's development process intensified and the cameras turned on us.

ANIMA?

Anima is the Latin word for breath/soul/vital-source.
